Nosso Lar (Astral City: A Spiritual Journey) is a really beautiful and moving film made in 2010. I am not a spiritist, I know nothing of Kardec, but I definitely subscribe to some of the themes in this film, both of a community in Heaven, and also Reincarnation. For me, realisation of my ignorance is wisdom, for then I am not dogmatic, and can be open to new ideas. Anyway, back to the film. It appears to be an exploration of the massive shock of disorientation after death for the individual who dies an unnatural death, which in this case, is lifestyle related. I do not necessarily subscribe to the idea that shock would come following such a death, that probably depends upon one’s level of understanding, but the journey of the protagonist is one of shock, a sojourn in some kind of grim purgatory or hell type environment, then being retrieved by some kind of higher being to a kind of heavenly hospital, some education, being reunited with his mother, and then some expectation in the heavenly community of an influx of souls from some undescribed crisis, and also some fun scenarios around choices and decisions for going back to Earth. Really interesting ideas, really beautiful, and certainly uplifting. IMDB link below:
